It seems that the year flew by so fast. Disney/Pixar has released some For Your Consideration posters for Cars 2.
For Your Consideration ads are sent to the different award shows (Oscars, Golden Globes, etc.) that pretty much tell them to consider that movie for all, or a certain award.
These are the two Cars 2 ads.
Pixar is going for (as usual) the Best Animated Film slot. Other For Your Consideration ads show that The Adventures of Tintin, Arthur Christmas, Gnomeo and Juliet, Happy Feet Two, Kung Fu Panda 2, Puss in Boots, Rango, and Whinnie the Pooh are competing for that spot as well.
They are also going for Best Original Song. What song would be for Best Original Song? Would You Might Think count since it was originally written by The Cars? Mabye Collision of Worlds or Nobody's Fool? They are competing against, as far I as I know, Gnomeo and Juliet and Whinnie the Pooh.
The last one is for Best Original Score, which wouldn't be surprising. I have the Cars 2 Soundtrack and it is a very well written work. Michael Giacchino, who composed The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and the Oscar winning Up, is not a stranger to the Oscars. They are so far competing against Arthur Christmas, Happy Feet Two, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, and Whinnie the Pooh.
Those are some big awards out there. Do you think that Cars 2 will come through and win?
