Updated Synopsis from CinemaCon 2012

Here is an updated synopsis from the Disney panel at CinemaCon on April 24, 2012:

Pixar takes audiences on incredible journeys into extraordinary worlds: from the darkest depths of the ocean to the top of the tepui mountains in South America; from the fictional metropolis of Monstropolis to a futuristic fantasy of outer space. From director Pete Docter (Up, Monsters, Inc.) and producer Jonas Rivera (Up), the inventive new film will take you to a place that everyone knows, but no one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind.

We also are quite sure Michael Arndt is working on the script (from Big Screen Animation).

Wow, this is really weird. It's like its a Pixar movie about Pixar movies. Crazyhead88 12:40, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

Very excited to see what Pete has up his sleeve! And also excited to see Bob's film! --Jeff (talk) 21:06, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
Sounds interesting ! I wonder of what it will look like...
I know we still don't have the title, but may be that's enough information to create a page ?...Gray Catbird 22:07, August 22, 2011 (UTC)==Pizza Planet==
No, that's not enough information to create a page. Maybe for the 2013 film, but not this one. --Aaron 03:36, August 23, 2011 (UTC)
John Lasseter was on the Charlie Rose show today and he gave another piece of information:
"Pete Docter, from Monsters, Inc. and Up, is doing a new film that takes place inside of a girl’s mind 'and it is about her emotions as characters, and that is unlike anything you’ve ever seen."
There isn't much new stuff in this description except that it is a girl that you go into the mind of. Crazyhead88 02:52, December 6, 2011 (UTC)
...And that it appears that emotions will be represented by chaarcters... May be we'll see a small character named "love", having problems with other stronger emotions, like "jealousy" ?... Gray Catbird 13:20, December 6, 2011 (UTC)

I'm super excited about this movie, but it's going to be pretty hard to throw in a Pizza Planet truck.

Well, mabye it goes into the memories part of the mind, and the person remembers a time they were doing something. It shows them doing it, and in the backround, is the pizza planet truck. Just a thought. Ha! A 'thought'! And it's a movie about being inside the MIND! Hooray for bad puns! (Lame humor is my specialty.) Crazyhead88 15:59, August 21, 2011 (UTC)

In a recent interview with Charlie Rose, John Lasseter hinted that it might be another strong female roll[[User:1stHammerBro|1stHammerBro 22:43, December 6, 2011 (UTC)1stHammerBro]] 22:42, December 6, 2011 (UTC)

Fiction or Non-Fiction

I really, really hope that this movie is going to be fiction.

A Pixar documetary? I hope not. Crazyhead88 14:31, August 22, 2011 (UTC)

Actually, the wording in the synopsis, "a place that everybody knows but nobody has seen" makes it sound like it is going to be fiction. I hope so. Crazyhead88 13:19, September 27, 2011 (UTC)

fiction, non-fiction does not matter to me Mariomario678910 02:03, November 14, 2011 (UTC)

So someone posted a picture on this page that says "Inside Out". Is this supposed to be the actual film logo? If so, can the person who posted it please tell me where they got it from? I'm curious. Teleram (talk) 22:57, June 17, 2013 (UTC) Teleram

I'm not the one who added it, but I saw it comes from the official facebook page of the film. So it is official. But at the same time, I'm pretty sure it's just a preliminary logo and that the final one won't be the same... Gray Catbird (talk) 23:12, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

There seems to be an edit war lately on who is the protagonist of Inside Out. Currently it is said Riley is the protagonist, while Joy would be the deuteragonist. I disagree with that classification... At the present time things are in favor of Riley not being the protagonist. And if maybe we can say who is the protagonist, I don't think we can say anything regarding the deuteragonist.

There a few pieces of evidence. As Pixar 3 pointed out the official synopsis explicitly says "[Riley] is not the main character but the setting of the film", and I also know there is at least one tweet that says : "Main character to be Joy". And anyways, it is pretty much well established the story is focused on inside the mind.

So I think it is possible to say Riley isn't the protagonist, although she may still be important as a character. It might even be possible to go on and say Joy is the protagonist ?

But isn't it too early to try to guess this ? We don't know a lot about the relation between Riley and her emotions, what they do, and how. While we now know more than ever on Inside Out, we still know almost nothing about the plot, so how can we say so early who is the protagonist ? --Gray Catbird (talk) 01:51, August 13, 2013 (UTC)

I agree, it's way to early to be getting into who will be the protagonist, antagonist, etc. The film is still 2 years away; there are still changes being made. Let's remove any mentions of protagonist, etc, until we know definitively. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 12:49, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
OK, I went on to remove the terms from Riley's and Joy's page --Gray Catbird (talk) 13:11, August 13, 2013 (UTC)
Red hair keeps putting back the "protagonist" stuff on Riley's page. --Lightening McQueen (talk) 13:50, August 21, 2013 (UTC)
GRRRRR!!! THAT'S IT!!!! I'm protecting the "protagonist" stuff on Riley's page with me!, BLOCK OR DELETE!!!!!!! --Red hair (talk) 16:46, September 06, 2013 (UTC)
Red hair is now changing Joy and Riley's pages to say that Riley is the protagonist, not Joy. --Lightening McQueen (talk) 14:35, February 17, 2015 (UTC)

Is it just me, or does anger look a little bit like Super Meat Boy? Spectreofflame (talk) 05:16, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

Voices of Riley's mother's Joy and Sadness

I wonder if these would count as official sources to Amazinganhkhoa's edit:

--Lightening McQueen (talk) 17:19, February 13, 2015 (UTC)

  • Sherry Lynn: looks totally legit to me. I think we could add it.
  • Forbes: it looks like they took the voice cast from IMDb, as they also list Paris Van Dyke. I believe IMDb is claiming since quite a bit a time that these two actors (Van Dyke and Alan) are in Inside Out, but no other sources back this. So I wouldn't count that one. Gray Catbird (talk) 25px-Gray_catbird_cars.jpg 17:38, February 13, 2015 (UTC)
Yes, Sherry Lynn's tweet seems very legit. I'm just surprised no one else has picked up on that - her tweet doesn't have any favorites or retweets, and I didn't see any other mentions of it quickly checking Google. Is that weird? --Jeff (talk) 21:25, February 13, 2015 (UTC)
It's also interesting to note that on the website the Twitter account links to, while she is credited for voice work for The Good Dinosaur, there's no mention of Inside Out. Anyways, the lack of interest may not be abnormal, as she seems to be doing mainly minor/background characters, and that Inside Out seems to be no exception... She doesn't seem to have a ton of followers after all (which could be due to the fact her Twitter account was created fairly recently).
By the way, I see it's not the only tweet on the subject she has made.--Gray Catbird (talk) 25px-Gray_catbird_cars.jpg 00:14, February 14, 2015 (UTC)
Yes, that is interesting! I agree, I think we can treat that information as official, just link to at least one of the tweets for reference purposes. Thanks. --Jeff (talk) 04:18, February 14, 2015 (UTC)
Done! --Gray Catbird (talk) 25px-Gray_catbird_cars.jpg 15:09, February 14, 2015 (UTC)

Lori Alan's official website says she voices the mother's Sadness: [1]. This seems to be official (even though the website is a bit weird imo). What do you guys think?--Gray Catbird (talk) 25px-Gray_catbird_cars.jpg 17:57, February 21, 2015 (UTC)

Yes, that seems official enough. Thanks! --Jeff (talk) 22:23, February 21, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I agree as well. --Lightening McQueen (talk) 22:28, February 21, 2015 (UTC)
Add her. Thanks!--Gray Catbird (talk) 25px-Gray_catbird_cars.jpg 03:42, February 22, 2015 (UTC)
