The Sushi Chef is a minor character in Cars 2.

While in Tokyo, Mater is driving around looking for free food. He asks the Sushi Chef what he has that's free. He doesn't respond however, as Mater quickly reacts when he sees the wasabi, mistaking it for pistachio ice cream. He asks for some, and the Chef gives him a small morsel, but Mater asks for more and more, until the Chef finally gives him a very large scoop. Mater then tries the wasabi, and burns his mouth badly.

In the video game, he is known as Daisu Tsashimi.

Sushi Chef: (gives a little piece of wasabi)
Mater: "Er...little more, please. It is free, right? Keep it coming. A little more. Come on, let's go. It's free. You're gettin' there. Scoop, scoop."
Sushi Chef: (gives little by little, then gives a big scoop when Mater said "Scoop, scoop.")
Mater: "There ya go! Now that's a scoop of ice cream!"
Sushi Chef (in Japanese): "お悔やみもしあります" (Okiyami moshi arimasu, My condolences.) - —Mater meets the Sushi Chef and asks for some wasabi, mistaking it for pistachio ice cream.
