Race Official Tom is one of the minor characters in Cars. He is a yellow and blue Remirunabout Orbit. He is the race official for the Piston Cup. He's there to make sure everything is above board and all rules are kept to.

"Tom is a Piston Cup official, but that doesn't mean he's not a fun guy. Sure rules and regulations are important to him, but he also enjoys a good joke or fun prank now and then. He once switched the signs on entrance C-44 of the stadium with C-45 to temporarily confuse his fellow race officials. The prank went over like gangbusters and everybody had a good laugh...except for Tom, who felt guilty and reported the incident to his superior."[1]
