Boost is a supporting character in Cars. He is also a nitrous racer and the leader of the Import Racers, consisting of himself, DJ, Wingo, and Snot Rod.

Background[]

Boost wasn't always a gang leader. When he was younger, he worked at a garage for elderly cars where he befriended an early drop-tank racer who turned him onto the ways of racing with nitrous. Learning from the master who racked up records on the Great Salt Lake, Boost promised the old timer he'd keep the tradition alive.[1]

Appearances[]

Cars[]

One night while driving on the interstate, the Tuner Cars notice a drowsy Mack and decide to have a little fun with him. After DJ puts Mack to sleep with his music, Boost, with Wingo's help, nudges Mack onto the rumble strips on the side of the road. They then laugh away at the sleeping truck, but are forced to flee the scene when Snot Rod lets out an explosive sneeze, waking Mack up from his brief nap.

Boost is later seen during the epilogue alongside the other Tuner Cars when they speed past Sheriff, who chases and eventually captures them. He then punishes the gang for their reckless actions by forcing them to use Bessie to repair a road.

Cars Toons[]

Boost make a cameo in the short Tokyo Mater where he is seen drifting in Radiator Springs alongside DJ and Wingo, leading Sheriff to chase after them once again.
