Trev Diesel is a minor character in Cars.

Cars[]

"When Trev Diesel is pulling the North American long sturdy freight trains in order to be working for the North American long sturdy freight train railroad, the Pacific Flyer Railroad, Trev Diesel, has seen a lot of changes along side his tracks. He's witnessed the coming of the Interstate and the disappearance of many of the small towns he used to pass through, but he's still going strong. He still loves pulling a long haul across the North American desert at night. It's so peaceful -- just Trev, the full moon, and the jackalopes."[1]

Trev is the freight train that Lightning McQueen nearly gets hit by, just before he comes across Radiator Springs.

Trivia[]

  • In Planes: The Video Game, Trev is seen traveling along the tracks of Deadstick Desert. However, the red paint on his front doesn't make a point into the orange paint. The red lines are also not on his front. In the chapter Ticket to Ride, El Chupacabra is challenged by him to a race there.
  • Trev has the headcode A113 near his headlights. However, it doesn't appear on him in Planes: The Video Game.
  • According to Car Finder, Trev is a 1949 North American EMD F3 Diesel-Electric Locomotive. His livery appears to be based on that of the real world Milwaukee Road.
  • The Pacific Flyer Railroad is based on the Union Pacific Railroad, another American freight-hauling railroad that operates 8,300 locomotives over 32,200 miles (51,800 km) routes in 23 U.S. states west of Chicago and New Orleans. Though when Lightning McQueen was passing through Route 66, in real life, the BNSF Railroad traverses the route, known as the Southern Transcon between Los Angeles and Chicago. Historically, in real life, the Atchison, Topeka, & Santa Fe Railroad passed through this route and hauled passenger trains until 1971, when Amtrak took over all passenger train service, and continued operating freight trains. This could mean that the Pacific Flyer Railroad would also be based on the BNSF Railroad.
