John makes a very brief appearance in Cars 2.

He is seen in Paris kissing Nancy on the Pont des Arts as Mater, Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell drive by, with Mater catching sight of the couple.
Trivia[]
- He and Nancy are named after John Lasseter and his wife Nancy. This is also a reference to when Lasseter and Nancy were once told during a visit to Paris that couples are supposed to kiss when they cross the Pont des Arts.
- John is a Citroën 2CV.
- His license plate says "17H ZK 92".
