In the film, Artie is seen at the Los Angeles International Speedway, providing commentary on the race, and is the one who recognizes Doc Hudson as the Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Upon seeing him, Artie reports Bob Cutlass and Darrell Cartrip that Doc is back.
