"Sven didn't plan to go into politics. In fact, he started off as an automotive model. He was crowned "Mr. Automotive" a record seven times. This led to roles in films like "Roll over and Die," "Roll over and Die II" and "Welcome to the Auto-Bomb." He soon made the natural leap from acting to politics, winning elections and looking good while doing it."

Sven makes a quick appearance during the montage of reports on Lightning McQueen's disappearance, stating how Lightning needs to be found at all costs.

• His die-cast packaging refers to him as "Hummer Sven".
• Sven is a major parody of actor and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, who became California's Governor in 2003 after Gray Davis was recalled, though he isn't voiced by Schwarzenegger himself as he was still Governor during that time and was about to run for re-election that year.
• Sven is modeled as a 2004 Hummer Modified H1, another reference to Schwarzenegger, as he is known for owning the vehicle.
• He is the only character in the Cars universe to be a politician.
• The California flag near him has a bear on it, that isn't car-ified.
• His roof rails are also his hair.
