Ted is a supporting character in Finding Nemo.

History[]

Finding Nemo[]

"One of the proudest dads on the reef, Ted is devoted to his daughter, Pearl. He teaches her an important octopus skill―never to ink in public, but she still has a bit to learn. Ted sympathizes with Marlin when he discovers that the clownfish doesn't have funny bones. After all, Ted doesn't have any bones at all! Like the other reef dads, he is in total awe when Marlin returns from his quest to find Nemo."[1]

Ted is a pink-purple flapjack octopus and father to Pearl. He hangs out with Phil and Bob as they each drop their kids off to school in Mr. Ray's class. He, Bob and Phil ask Marlin to tell them a joke since he's a clownfish, to which Marlin tries, but has difficulty telling it. However, when Marlin returns from his journey, he manages to tell a good one that has all three rolling over with laughter. Also, when the vegetarian sharks Bruce, Anchor and Chum drop off Dory at the end, Ted frighteningly lets off ink just like his daughter did at the beginning of the film out at the drop off.

Finding Dory[]

He, Bob and Phil were originally going to appear in a deleted scene where Marlin imagines himself beating up Bruce.[2]

Trivia[]

  • There is another character named Ted in the movie who is one of the Moonfish.
