Has it occurred to anyone that he was already an adult when Carl was a child, so he would be at least 85? (Assuming Carl is only 65 and he was only 20.)--Martin II WikiThe Mad Poet 02:46, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

Muntz is 92. Or, well, was 92, when he died.

I agree, and, The Woot, PLEASE sign. Vicyorus 00:06, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

Name[]

Should his name be just Charles Muntz or Charles F. Muntz? Pixarfandom 15:55, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

I've never even heard of "Charles F. Muntz" before, so I'm not sure. I don't even think there's an F. in his name. Hmm... --Aaron 00:21, May 13, 2011 (UTC)
Where did the "F" come from? Even if there is such a reference it must be fairly obsure. No one will come to this wiki looking for Charles F. Muntz. I recommend putting it back to Charles Muntz. I don't even think we need a redirect from Charles F. Muntz. --Jeff (talk) 11:46, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
I'm positive the "F" in Muntz's name doesn't exist, so it should be deleted. I'll rename the page as well. --Aaron 02:14, May 24, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I've deleted the page, and am removing the Talk category. --Jeff (talk) 11:50, May 24, 2011 (UTC)
I see the "F." being used on many pages here. Was it ever determined if his middle initial is indeed F? Thanks. - RaptorWiki (Ryan) 12:22, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
I made a quick research on the subject, and I find that the book "Pixarpedia" actually calls him Charles F. Muntz... Is it reliable ? How official is this ? --Gray Catbird 14:50, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
I checked the Up press kit and it indeed has him mentioned as Charles F. Muntz, although in the official credits it is only Charles Muntz. --Jeff (talk) 18:55, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
OK, then, I guess the page should be renamed. - RaptorWiki (Ryan) 09:10, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
Since the press kit refers to him as Charles Muntz (with just a mention of his middle initial), I think the page should match the official credit listing. This is also what people will know the character by. So I've moved the page back to Charles Muntz, changed the first paragraph to match that, and made the full name attribute in the character template Charles F. Muntz. I think generally we should have the page name and first name occurrence in the first paragraph match the official press kit credit. Jeff (talk) 11:55, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

Dubious trivia point[]

The trivia contained:

  • Muntz is currently the first and so far the only Pixar villain to use a firearm (a sniper rifle)

I removed the words in red because "currently" is meaningless without checking the edit history to determine when it was added, and because the rest is a type of enumeration which is no longer allowed. However, I suspect that the rest is wrong; my memory is a bit hazy on this point, but surely Ratatouille begins with an old woman (effectively a villain, albeit a minor one as she isn't seen again) who uses a firearm against the rat colony? And that movie was IIRC released before Up. — RobertATfm (talk) 12:20, April 19, 2016 (UTC)

I removed the entire comment, as you are correct about Ratatouille. Thanks. --Jeff (talk) 12:25, April 19, 2016 (UTC)
