Luxo, Jr. was the first film produced by the newly formed Pixar company. The story of a child Luxo lamp and its parent, it debuted at the 1986 SIGGRAPH conference in Dallas, Texas. It was the first computer animated film to be nominated for an Academy Award.[1]
