In last year's No Grime 500, he was mid-shot when he was t-boned by an untamed racer, Buck Schooner. It cost Bernie two and a half months in the body shop, but scored him an incredible shot of Chick Hicks and the August cover of Runner Up Monthly.

Brian does enjoy the excitement of the racetrack though, and sometimes when he's shouting out, "Get your antenna balls here!" over the roaring crowds, he likes to imagine he's belting out a classic show tune over the cheers of his adoring fans.
Barry Diesel Barry loves Dinoco oil. He starts his day off with Dinoco Extreme Octane to give him that extra kick in the bumper, and then it's gallon after gallon of Dinoco Regular to keep him running smoothly all day. However, his wife thinks it's about time Barry switched to Dinoco Light.

His unorthodox caution flag pattern is a thing of beauty, and if it weren't for Dex, the races would never start -- and they'd never end.

But nowadays all he goes for are the big stories and everybody knows who Hooman is.

Chet stays alert by reciting the state capitals frontward and backwards and belting out "99 bottles of brake fluid," sometimes expanding the tune to eight hundred or so bottles.
Oliver Lightload Oliver likes posing as a long-haul trucker, but the truth is he just likes the Top Down Truck Stop. You see, he's actually an online stockbroker, and he lives less than a mile down the road. He likes to pop in once in a while and crack some jokes, take a nap, or just listen to stories from the constantly changing clientele, all on their way to someplace far off and exotic.

He still loves pulling a long haul across the North American desert at night. It's so peaceful -- just Trev, the full moon, and the jackalopes.
Hank "Halloween" Murphy Hank used to get into a lot of trouble in his younger years, drag racing, doing donuts, even playing chicken with his friends. Hank never lost a chicken race because he had problems with depth of perception. He couldn't tell the other cars were getting closer, only that they were getting bigger. He decided it was time to stop goofing around when he lost a curb feeler in a race. That was just a little too close.
Percy Hanbrakes Percy Hanbrakes likes to look good when he goes out on the town. He makes sure he's taken a nice long car wash in the morning, he makes sure he's got plenty of wiper fluid in case he gets a smudge on his windshield, and he likes to make sure he's got a touch of that new car smell. The problem is he tends to forget to make sure he's got enough gas to get him where he's headed.
Miles "Meattruck" Malone For more than sixty years, Miles Malone was known around Ornament Valley as the rain-sleet-or-shine delivery truck. If you needed something shipped fast, Miles was the one to call.

Nelson Blindspot Nelson is a Piston Cup cameraman. After twenty years of keeping the leaders in his cross hairs, he is the only car in the world who can keep pace with the likes of Strip Weathers, Chick Hicks, and Lightning McQueen, and all without even breaking a sweat.
Elvis Decked out in gold wheels and mirrored sunglasses, this pompadour-packing party machine heads up the Elvis RV club. Wherever there's a racin', you'll find Elvis a movin' and a shakin'!!
Marty Brakeburst Marty doesn't feel alive unless he's got something to worry about. Whether it's his receding tire treads, politics, the teenagers next door, fossil fuel running out one day, or the general state of the world, Marty is only truly happy when he's miserable.
Wilmar Flattz Do fans have fans? Well Lightning McQueen's two superfans Mia and Tia do. Wilmar Flattz met Mia and Tia at a McQueen fan club event last season and he's been smitten ever since. Once Wilmar actually gathered up the nerve to ask Tia what time it was. Her answer, "Quarter to three, I think" is a treasured memory he plays in his head over, and over.
Kori Turbowitz The smoky-voiced Kori Turbowitz started her career off as a voicemail operator. But her delivery of "You have...THREE new messages" was spoken with such flair and irreverence that the next thing she knew, she was the number one radio host in the Bay Area, and one of the top Piston Cup reporters on television.
Not Chuck His name is Not Chuck, not Chucky, not Chuck-meister, not Chaz, not Chet, not Charlie and not Charles. He's a firm believer that a racer is only as good as his tires are fresh, so his motto is, "Change them early and change them often."
Jonathan Wrenchworths Jonathan didn't always have a rust problem. It all started after he spent three nights standing in the rain waiting for race tickets. By the third morning, he was covered hood to tires in flaky brown rust, making it hard to get a date - that is until he flashed his front row Piston Cup tickets! Ever since then, he's been standing in line for tickets come rain or shine.
Dusty Rust-eze Dusty and his brother Rusty like to help out their fellow rusty cars almost as much as they like telling jokes. And that's why they invented Rust-eze Medicated Bumper Ointment. Be it the distinguished browning around the wheel well or the bumper that's completely falling off, Rusty and Dusty are there with a can of Rust-eze to fit it, or at least ease the burning, itching, and soreness that plagues so many cars.
Rusty Rust-eze Rusty and his brother Dusty created a small empire out of their mother's garage in Boston. It's been over 15 years and their mother has watched their operation grow into a household name with factories all over the country. Rusty and Dusty's mother says she couldn't be more proud of her two boy's accomplishments, but hopes that their next big move will be to finally move out of her garage.
Leroy Traffik Have you ever had one of those days where you get a flat tire, take the wrong ramp onto the freeway and there isn't another exit again for miles and you desperately need to make a pit stop, oh and you're carting around a mattress on your head? Well this is Leroy, and I guess you could say he's having one of those days.
Frank Frank is a hard worker, he spends his days in the fields harvesting, threshing and cleaning grain; then it's off to oversee the tractors' work for the rest of the afternoon. By the end of his long day Frank is ready to power down for the night and prepare for the early morning ahead. So if you're planning to wake Frank up out of his precious sleep you'd better have a good reason, or a really good escape route.
Edwin Kranks Edwin Kranks was a creature of habit, regular oil checks, dinner for one at Flo's every night, and a new coat of tan paint every year. Until a weekend with some old college buddies lead to an unforgettable night, Edwin can't seem to recall, resulted in a shocking metal flake apple green paint job. To his horror, everyone in town couldn't stop staring at him, but to his surprise the girls in town couldn't stop staring either. Edwin's habits didn't change too much after that, though dinner at Flo's every night became dinner for two.
Matti Matti is the producer of the number one radio talk show in the bay area, hosted by top reporter Kori Turbowitz. Matti goes out in the field with Kori everywhere, and together the two are an unstoppable team.

Todd Todd is one of a legion of devoted Pizza Planet Delivery trucks delivering fresh off the line Pizza Planet brand air filters to cars all over California. Every now and then in Todd's quest to make it to his customers, as soon as possible, he stumbles upon an unavoidable detour like: construction, flooded roads, or worst of all, free tickets to the race of the century at the Los Angeles International Speedway.

Marco Axelbender Never mess with Marco Axelbender. This former ATF pursuit vehicle received a Presidential Commendation when he blew out three tires during a high speed pursuit on the 101 and still managed to catch the assailant on nothing but rims. Today he treads safer roads at the Los Angeles International Speedway, arresting scalpers and turning away riff raff.
Coriander Widetrack Young Coriander Widetrack has no interest in racing; her eyes are on the skies. While the other cars in school race around the playground pretending to be Lightning McQueen, Coriander turns that blacktop into blue sky, imagining she's soaring 10,000 feet in the air and racing to exotic destination. It's Coriander's dream to someday meet her idol, jet fighter Marco.
Tom Tom is a Piston Cup official, but that doesn't mean he's not a fun guy. Sure rules and regulations are important to him, but he also enjoys a good joke or fun prank now and then. He once switched the signs on entrance C-44 of the stadium with C-45 to temporarily confuse his fellow race officials. The prank went over like gangbusters and everybody had a good laugh...except for Tom, who felt guilty and reported the incident to his superior.
Marco As a twin engine jet fighter, Marco gets to go on many dangerous and exciting missions. His favorite missions of all are the crowd pleasing, low altitude Piston Cup fly overs. It's a chance for him to mix it up with the public he defends, but unfortunately when zipping by at 500 mph, he only gets to watch the race for about 1.2 seconds at a time.
Mario Andretti Considered one of the most universally successful racers in history, Mario Andretti has done it all! Name a race circuit, series, or track and you can be assured that Mario has garnered victories on every one of them. Not many cars know this, but Mario is actually an old friend of Doc Hudson's. They were fierce competitors on the track, but good friends off the track.
Lee Revkins #63 Lee Revkins grew up mastering his driving skill on the family farm. He recalls an old, rickety bridge down at the river running through the property where he'd try to "thread the needle across the narrow bridge." Lee credits his nerves of steel to those daredevil runs. These days Lee threads through Piston Cup traffic every Sunday competing with some of the fastest cars in the world!
Floyd Mulvihill #70 Floyd Mulvihill, originally trained as an automotive engineer, decided to put down his tools and pursue his life-long passion to race. He competed in the Junior Piston Cup Pro Series with the likes of Sage VanDerSpin and graduated to the Piston Cup in 2005. He's affectionately known as "Smoky Floyd" as he enjoys laying long patches of burning rubber in front of his adoring fans during a race in 2005.
Murray Clutchburn #92 Murray Clutchburn's first taste of competition was as a member of the 1984 gold winning Olympic test track relay team. You might recognize him from specially marked boxes of Wheelies Shredded Brakes! The momentum of the Olympics carried him straight into mainstream professional racing and a flourishing career in the Piston Cup series in 1985. Lauded for his classic image, Murray sometimes sports his signature exhaust side-burns that made him such a hit with the ladies back in the day.
Crusty Rotor #76 Believe it or not Crusty Rotor was actually a vinyl top salesman before the makers of Vinyl Toupee, Vinyl Top in a Can put him out of business! While working out his frustration in the gym he realized he had an amazing gift for driving long, hard, grueling distances without feeling even the slightest burnout. As luck would have it the makers of Vinyl Toupee, Vinyl Top in a Can were fronting cash for a Piston Cup team. Crusty made the biggest sell of his life landing the job and all the spray-on toupee his roof could sport.
Johnny Blamer #54 Johnny Blamer simply has one of those grilles other cars love to crash into. He's been involved in more collisions than any other car in Piston Cup history, earning him the nickname, "Magnet Face." He's also known as the hardest working car on the circuit, though he hasn't finished a race in the ten years he's been competing. He holds the record at 545 starts and zero finishes.
Kevin Racingtire #35 With little natural athletic ability, knowledge of racing's rich history, or understanding of its complex rules, it's a wonder Kevin Racingtire has been able to sustain himself in the Piston Cup circuit for as long as he has. He attributes his success to his family, particularly his father-in-law, who is the owner of the large pharmaceutical company that just so happens to sponsor the team he races for.
Billy Oilchanger #58 It's Billy Oilchanger's dream to become a racing color commentator after he retires. He's watched all the greats, like Darrell Cartrip and Bob Cutlass over the years, and even practices announcing by calling the races out loud to himself while he's in them. It's great experience, though the other drivers find it distracting and a little creepy.
Ryan Shields #39 Ryan is not only a View Zeen Corrective Windshields driver, he's also a customer. Without it, the race is merely a blur of multi-colored blobs moving at 200 miles per hour. His View Zeen windshield doesn't just help out on the track, it also has a special coating that helps cut down on glare while driving at night, not to mention it makes him look smarter.
Chuck Armstrong #33 Chuck Armstrong has always had a slight allergy to certain fuels. As a result those fuels make it a little difficult for him to be within a five foot radius of them. Once he started racing professionally, not only did the problem not go away, it actually got worse at high speeds. It got so bad the other cars didn't want to pass him. Chuck hopes he's a good example of how a problem can be an asset.
Rusty Cornfuel #4 Rusty Cornfuel grew up on a farm in Mississippi and gained his reputation among the locals for running his own racing circuit with his buddies. Rusty won most of the races and made enough money off the event to nearly sponsor himself professionally. Luckily his current sponsor, Tow Cap Hitch Protectors, came along to front the bill for his team. Now Rusty can spend his own money on more important things, like flying his buddies from the farmdown for every race.
Page 10[]
Davey Apex #84 Davey Apex has always dreamed of being a professional race car. Sure he's never come in higher than 20th or 21st, but it's still the life he's always dreamt of. He loves the cheering fans and the squealing rubber on asphalt. The only part he doesn't like is the racing part which is probably why he's never come in higher than 20th or 21st place. See Davey's just not competitive by nature. If someone wants to pass him, he lets them. I mean why be rude?
James Cleanair #61 Vitoline, a fuel additive vitamin company, provides fuel for older active cars. Sponsoring a race car seemed like a good way to get that message across to their customers, and they hired the right car for the job! Senior racer James Cleanair has been racing for twenty years and shows no signs of slowing down!
Todd "The Shockster" Marcus #123 Todd Marcus is known as the biggest race car to emerge from his hometown of Dieselton, Alabama. He's also known as the only race car to emerge from Dieselton, Alabama. When asked why he chose to be car number 123, he simply replied, "Because it's easy to remember." That's why it's also his ATM number, his internet login, his home security code, and his safe combination.
Ruby "Easy" Oaks #51 Nicknamed "Easy" Oaks for his laid back attitude and his slow, gravelly voice, Ruby Oaks view of life mirrors his approach to racing. He likes to take it easy, gather his thoughts, get folks to let their guard down, and when they least expect it, take the lead.
Ralph Carlow #117 Number 117, Ralph Carlow, is the little brother to famous Hollywood actor Jordon Carlow. The two brothers had little respect for what the other did for a living, but when Jordon got a role playing a race car in the film "Racing Hearts," he was forced by the studio to spend time shadowing his brother Ralph. After two long months of research, Jordon came away with a new respect for how hard racing really is, and after seeing his brother's performance in the film, Ralph gained a new respect for acting. Since then Jordon never misses a race and Ralph never misses a premiere.
Misti Motorkrass #73 Misti Motorkrass comes from a racing family, but not exactly on the track. Her brother Frank is a champion street racer on the East Side. Her brother Zach holds titles as the fastest drag racer in three towns, and legend has it her brother Dave has outrun five police cars in the past year alone. Suffice to say, Misti's family is very excited about her legitimate racing career and though she may not have a perfect track record at least her record is clean!
Ponchy Wipeout #90 Ponchy was working as a stunt double on a movie about a pair of wise-cracking California Highway Patrol officers called "HighJinx" when he was spotted and recruited to be a professional race car. Ponchy's gone from the big screen to the little screen, but at least it involves a lot less intentional crashing.
Mac iCar #84 Mac iCar likes things clean and simple. He doesn't go for the flashy colors, and gaudy stickers that adorn some of his fellow racers. He prefers a simple sleek design, and feels this creates a bold statement, one that says, "I think different."
Kevin Shiftright #121 Kevin is the fourth in a long line of racers in the Shiftright family. His great grandfather Kurt raced on the old dirt tracks of the fifties, followed by his grandpa Kraig, who won 2 Piston Cups in the late seventies, and his dad Klint, who won 3 in the early nineties. Kevin tries not to let the pressure of his family history get to him when he's on the track or at the dinner table.
Dirkson D'Agostino #34 Dirkson D'Agostino discovered his natural racing talent while working in the graphics department for a small racing outfit. Running errands between buildings, he dodged all kinds of obstacles at insane speeds. One day Dirkson caught the eye of the race shop's owner, who fired the young upstart for what he considered reckless driving in the workplace, and rehired him as one of his pro racers, for what he considered a natural talent on the race track.
Brush Curber #56 Brush Curber is considered to be one of the most consistent veteran Piston Cup contenders. Curber had numerous top ten finishes in the 2006 season, but a string of mid-season malfunctions severely side tracked his run for the Cup. With help from his Fiber Fuel sponsor and an overhauled diet, Brush purged his losing ways. He also attributes his resurgence to his loving wife of forty years, Katherine, and their fourteen children, Hal, Brush Jr., Penelope, Jake, Marty, Willard, Ingrid, Lucille, Scotty, Wendell, Aimee, Kassidy, Florence, and of course Truman.
Slider Petrolski #74 Slider Petrolski's parents named him Slider after his uncle: famed dirt track racer Slide Powers who graced the gritty, makeshift tracks of the late forties. Aspiring to his namesake Slider started racing at an early age. He challenged postal trucks, taxis, delivery vans and all varieties of unsuspecting pedestrian motorists. He even raced a police car, but only once.
Sage VanDerSpin #80 Youngest winner of the Junior Piston Cup Pro Series, VanDerSpin entered the Piston Cup Competition in 2004 already a highly decorated racer. His favorite trackside pastime is dodgeball. Several of his fellow racers play with him as well, but it's the Pitties who are the toughest competition on the dodgeball court, says VanDerSpin, because they're tiny and they have arms.
Greg Candyman #101 Greg loves his Tach-O-Mint sponsorship, but there is one aspect he's not a fan of...the paint job. Gingerbread brown with candy cane type would not have likely been his first choice. Nor would it have likely been the first choice of a professional graphic designer, but it was however the first choice of the owner's four year old niece. Greg is also not a big fan of judging the annual contest in which fans build a likeness of him out of real gingerbread and gumdrops.
Manny Flywheel #68 Still early in his career, number 68 Manny Flywheel, is fast becoming one of the most consistent gearheads on the circuit. He's also the proud spokesman for his sponsor, N2O Nitro Cola, which contains nitrous to give you that extra pep in your engine. Though ironically Manny himself cannot drink the product and still race legally.
Page 11[]
Darren Leadfoot #82 Darren Leadfoot is the LAST guy you want drafting you on the final turn. Known for his sudden 11th hour accelerations, Darren's one car who won't let anything or anyone stand between him and the finish line!
Haul Inngas #79 European racer Haul Inngas migrated to the states in the early nineties. An accomplished champion in the European circuit, he was heavily courted by a number of team owners who knew of Inngas' incredible mastery of Europe's most challenging tracks. However, tragedy struck one night when Haul accidentally drove on the wrong side of the road coming home from the bowling alley! Luckily his ego was the only thing seriously damaged, and he returned to win the Piston Cup later that year.
Ernie Gearson #93 Ernie Gearson recalls the day when high dollar sponsorships and squealing fans were still a thing of the future. He may be one of the oldest racers on the grids these days, but he's been around the track once or twice. He's still got plenty of fire in his chambers. His friends call him "Giddyup," alluding to the humble 300 horsepower engine he started his career with all those years ago.
Eugene Carbureski #36 Eugene got his start prepping racecars at a local race shop. But it didn't take long before he realized he had more nuts and bolts knowledge of racing than most of the other arrogant cars he was working on. A pick up race during lunch one day between Eugene and one of the pros showed that he had more power than he knew what to do with. With that one simple victory, Eugene garnered the attention of Wells Runabout, the owner of Team Tank Coat, and the rest is history!
Claude Scruggs #52 Some would say that Leak Less Adult Dripping Pans is not a prestigious sponsor, but Claude Scruggs would disagree. He's been the #52 yellow, black, and white for more than two decades, and he wears the Leak Less logo with pride. His fan base might be a bit older, but thanks to the automotive boom of the late 1940s, there are a lot of them. Their enthusiasm for the sport and for Scruggs is so intense they can barely contain themselves.
Aiken Axler #28 Number 28 Nitroade racer, Aiken Axler, captured the 2003 Vitoline Rookie of the Year honors in his first full season of Cup competition. He's finished 12th, 7th, and 8th in the final point standings over the past three years. Off the track, Axler enjoys maintaining his top racing form by exercising daily and practicing a form of meditation called Tai Rod. He and fellow Piston Cup Racer, Darrel Draggered, formed the alternative country jazz trio "Three Cycle" and performed at the 2004 Piston Cup awards ceremony!
Winford Bradford Rutherford #64 An Ivy League school may seem like an unlikely place to start in the racing world. But only a couple of years ago Winford Bradford Rutherford was grille-deep in physics books learning about momentum, velocity, and anything else that would give him an edge on the track. His doctor and lawyer friends at the country club thought he was crazy, but the studying paid off. Winford is now a highly respected Piston Cup racer. He uses his vast knowledge of physics to cheat the wind and out-maneuver his fellow racers, who affectionately call him, "The Professor."
Guido & Luigi Guido and Luigi are the biggest Ferrari racing fans in Radiator Springs. Unfortunately they're a long way from Italy. So when there's a race in town, Ferraris or not, they get out their team colors! This may be their only opportunity to show off their home pride.
Al Oft Al is high on life. As an endorsement billboard in the sky for the Lightyear Tire company (proud sponsor of the Piston Cup), he loves to provide those grand images high above the track. He's just happy that his job sends him to great sporting events, because he always has the best seat in the house!
Rotor Turbosky A high-performance executive helicopter, Rotor Turbosky is ready at a moment's notice to get The King wherever he needs to go. He is faster, provides a smoother ride than those smaller whirlybirds, and is a proud card-carrying member of Team Dinoco.
Chick Hicks #86 Chick Hicks is a racing veteran with a chip on his shoulder, a ruthless competitor who has cheated his way into more second-place finishes than any other car. He's been counting down the seasons to The King's retirement so that he can take over the coveted Dinoco sponsorship, but he never expected such fierce competition from hot shot rookie Lightning McQueen.
Strip Weathers #43 "The King," Strip Weathers, has seen it all. From his humble beginnings on the Piston Cup circuit, to the glitzy sponsorship and media attention he has today. This seven time Piston Cup Champion is the winningest racecar in all of Piston Cup history. He's loved every second of his racing career, but truth be told, The King is ready for a slower pace. He's looking forward to more time with his queen, Mrs. The King.
Bob Cutlass Bob Cutlass is a world renowned sports announcer. He's covered every sporting event from tractor pulls to monster truck rallies, including the last three Olympic games, but he's most famous for teaming up with former Piston Cup racer Darrell Cartrip to announce Piston Cup racing on the Racing Sports Network. Bob Cutlass is the voice of reason to Darrell's enthusiastic color commentary. Bob is also the host of Sunday night's TV staple "America's Funniest Sports Utility Vehicles.
Darrell Cartrip A southern gentleman and ex-Piston Cup champion, DC knows what it takes to win. He's in the booth with Bob Cutlass for every major Cup event, calling the play-by-play and adding humor and personality to the commentary. But when the flag drops, he's all business, that is until he shouts his signature, "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity! Let's go racing boys!!"
Dale Jr. #8 Racing sensation Dale Jr. has wasted no time gathering victories and creating a commanding track presence since winning Piston Cup Rookie of the Year honors in 2000. His drive and charisma have scored with fans too -- he's earned The Piston Cup Most Popular Driver award four years running! But when it's all said and done he's just a shy guy, who enjoys quiet time with his friends and family.
Page 12[]
Tex Tex has been Dinoco's team owner and talent scout for over 20 years. Sure, he's a smooth-talker from the Lone Star State, but he's also a genuine guy with a big heart. He knows it takes more than flash and big talk to win -- it takes loyalty, smarts and a lot of hard work. And Tex ought to know; he started Dinoco with just one tiny oil well, and now he runs the largest oil empire in the world.
Tractors The earliest domestication of the North American tractors can be traced back to the 1800s during the construction of the first transcontinental railroad. Railroaders quickly discovered the tractors' ability to create level grades across even the most demanding geography. Today the native plains tractor is regarded as one of the true pioneers of the West.
Mater Mater's a good ol' boy with a big heart and the only tow truck in Radiator Springs. He runs Tow Mater Towing & Salvage and manages the local impound lot. Though a little rusty, he has the quickest towrope in Carburetor County and is always the first to lend a helping hand. Mater sees the bright side of any situation. He's the heart and soul of Radiator Springs, and he doesn't have a mean bolt in his chassis.
DJ From an early age, DJ, whose full name is Devon Montegomery Johnston III, was interested in all kinds of music. He had a voracious appetite for collecting records and was a gifted student at the nationally renowned East Coast Music Conservatory. One evening at a friend's party, Devon met a gentleman by the name of Wingo. An expert in paint and body modification, Wingo designed a custom paint job for Devon and a wicked sound system to match. Now going by the name DJ, Devon revels in his treble but never loses touch with his bass!
Boost Boost wasn't always a gang leader. When he was younger, he worked at a garage for elderly cars where he befriended an early drop-tank racer who turned him onto the ways of racing with nitrous. Learning from the master who racked up records on the Great Salt Lake, Boost promised the old timer he'd keep the tradition alive.
Snot Rod Snot Rod took his doctor's advice and headed west to find some clean, crisp mountain air to relieve his chronic allergies. On the way he met up with Boost, DJ, and Wingo. The highly modified car group set him as the gang's head of security and crowd control. He still has allergies and explosive sneezing attacks, but his ability to clear the road of pesky traffic is unmatched and much appreciated by his buddies who like the road all to themselves.
Wingo In grade school, Wingo's outrageous, inappropriate paint schemes didn't comply with the school's strict paint code, and got him into a lot of trouble. These days, Wingo makes a good living designing paint schemes for an illustrious clientèle at his own custom paint shop. Now that his paint doesn't get him into trouble, Wingo and his gang find new ways to get into trouble.
Sheriff There's a long history of law enforcement in Sheriff's family. His father was a traffic cop. His aunt, his two cousins on his mother's side, his little brother...even his grandfather was a traffic cop, directing traffic at Times Square in New York around the turn of the century. Sheriff always knew he too would be a cop. After all, how many other options did he have with a name like Sheriff?
Guido Like his boss Luigi, Guido is an avid Ferrari racing fan who dreams of performing a real pit stop on a real race car. To better prepare himself, he practices tire changes at night on wooden practice frames he built in his garage. One of these days, he hopes to set a new world record for the fastest pit stop of all time. But until that happens, he continues his quest to further enlighten himself. Currently, Guido is reading Tire Changes for the Soul, and Four Tires, One Goal.
Luigi Luigi runs the local tire shop in Radiator Springs, Luigi's Casa Della Tires. If you're gonna be driving through this world, why not look good doing it? That's Luigi's motto. Cars may not get to choose their body type, but they all have a choice when it comes to the tires they wear. Luigi offers the finest selection of tires west of the Mississippi, and Luigi's Casa Della Tires is known far and wide for its impeccable service, competitive prices, and of course, its very stylish proprietor.
Stanley The statue of Stanley marks the very spot where Radiator Springs was founded. As he was traveling west searching for a place to settle and make his fortune, Stanley stumbled upon a natural spring coming up from the earth. He stopped to fill his radiator and never left. Soon afterward Stanley met Lizzie, the love of his life, and together they founded Radiator Springs, which soon became a legendary resting spot for travelers making their way across Route 66.
Red Red may not be a fire truck of many words, but what he doesn't say, he shows through his generous actions. Whether its putting out a tire fire or caring for the beautiful flowers, Red is there to support and protect his beloved town. Red takes negative comments on the town very personally. So if you have something bad to say about Radiator Springs, you'd better watch out, because if there's one thing Red's not afraid of, it's his emotions.
Lizzie When Lizzie first rolled into Radiator Springs in 1927, it was love at first sight -- love for the town and love for Stanley, the town founder. But she kept Stanley on the soft shoulder for months. Until one day, she realized that Stanley's vision for a new oasis in the desert had enraptured her, too. From that day on, the two became the inseparable heart and soul of the town.
Sarge Ask Sarge about his military service and he'll regale you with stories of daring fearlessness! Like the time his tank friend lost his track in The Battle of the Bulge and Sarge had to tow him to safety. For his bravery, Sarge received the Grille Badge of True Mettle! It's displayed front and center at Sarge's Surplus Hut, side by side with Sarge's own brand of The Mother Road survival kit. He guarantees that if you break down, this kit will help you get through the night and maybe the next world war, and it all stows nicely in your trunk.
Fillmore Fillmore is Radiator Springs' resident hippie. A believer in individuality and all things natural, he brews his own organic fuel and preaches its many benefits. Visitors can try Fillmore's special flavors in the tasting room behind his love-bead and tie-dye-covered geodesic dome. His many conspiracy theories and "naturally" unkempt yard drive his neighbor Sarge absolutely crazy.

Flo Flo first arrived in Radiator Springs as a touring Motorama girl. She was headed west with a transport of models, when her chaperone blew her transmission just outside of town. Flo and the other Motorama girls spent an unforgettable weekend in Radiator Springs; new tires from Luigi, souvenirs from Lizzie and a new paint job from Ramone. But when it came time to paint Flo, Ramone threw down his airbrush. Not because he was too good to paint her, but because she was too good to paint. The next day when the girls left, Flo stayed. She and Ramone have been together ever since.
Ramone A true artist isn't afraid to take chances, explore new ways to express themselves, or push the limits of culture. Ramone believes that the automotive body can be a vehicle of expression, which is why every day for Ramone is a new chance to explore new paint jobs and push the limitless boundaries of his art.

Dinoco Mia and Dinoco Tia McQueen's many daydreams of success have him seeing double, as Dinoco blue is not only in his future, but also in the future of his two biggest fans, Mia and Tia. After all, they follow him wherever he's headed, and in his mind he's headed for the biggest sponsorship around.
Gold Mia and Gold Tia Lightning McQueen's dreams of success are humble, really. Well, maybe at first -- but gone unchecked the houses get bigger, the fame more powerful and the lifestyle flashier. Chick Fan Mia and Chick Fan Tia With Lightning McQueen missing in action his two biggest fans Mia and Tia were devastated, and that is when Chick Hicks swooped in to console them, loading them up with his own merchandise and a free Hostile Takeover Bank sponsored paint job. Mia and Tia begrudgingly accepted the offer, not because they're Chick Hicks fans, but because the color green complimented their eyes.
Waitress Mia and Waitress Tia Now that Flo's V-8 Cafe is the watering hole for the who's who of the racing circuit, Mia and Tia have moved to town and quickly become Flo's most popular waitresses. After all, what better way to be close to their hero Lightning McQueen!

Cruisin' Lightning McQueen The town fixed up Lightning McQueen just in time for a cruise down the strip, and Radiator Springs looks pretty cool on him. Then again, everything looks pretty cool under the glow of the neon on Route 66.
Muddy Lightning McQueen Could anything be more embarrassing than being splashed in the face with mud right in front of the girl of your dreams? I don't think so.
Nature Drive Lightning McQueen Could anything be more embarrassing than being splashed in the face with mud right in front of the girl of your dreams? Well, maybe being covered with leaves right after that. Yes, that would be more embarrassing...

Sally with Tattoo Sally's tattoo pin-striping is left over from her early days. Though she's a little embarrassed by it now, it serves as a reminder of her high-speed life in California and how happy she is to be cruising in the slow lane.

Pit Crew Member Mack If Mack is one thing, he's loyal, and when his boss Lightning McQueen needs help he'll help, even if it means slapping two gas can rigs on and turning himself into a one man pit crew.

Fabulous Hudson Hornet Hud started racing in the Piston Cup series back in 1951, when tracks were dirt, and cars were tough. No trailers, no pitties, just heavy-duty motors and strong chassis battling it out for a few bucks and a big cup. His low center of gravity, and agile cornering ability were impossible to beat and many of his fellow racers hit the hay bales trying to hold the line alongside him.
Dirt Track Doc Hudson Doc's racing days ended when he arrived in Radiator Springs. But with Lightning McQueen in town he can't help trying on those old racing tires to see if he's still got it.

Race Damaged Chuck Armstrong Chuck Armstrong is the toughest kid in the racing business. Last season, while suffering from a worn-out clutch, he got back on the track and bump-started himself all the way to Victory Lane. You can never count Chuck out, not if he's still got some engine left.

Dinoco Chick Hicks In Lightning McQueen's worst nightmares not only does Chick Hicks win the Piston Cup, but he wins over Dinoco as well.
Damaged Strip Weathers After a spectacular crash The King looked pretty beat up, but rest assured he was back on his tires in no time flat! When you've been racing and crashing as long as he has, you can handle a few bumps and bruises.

Brand New Mater Mater's lived in Radiator Springs his whole life. In his younger days, he used to be a real handful around town, playing pranks on everyone, tippin' tractors, saying inappropriate things at the wrong time, but luckily he's matured a lot since then.
One Eye Mater Keep an eye on Mater, he tends to take things a little too literally.
Guido with Tires Guido isn't just pretty fast with a tire, he's pretty creative with one too, or even with ten.
Pit Crew Member Fillmore Fillmore is ready at a moment's notice to take his organic fuel wherever it's needed. Whether helping out his buddy, Lightning McQueen in a big race or hitting the road and giving out free samples, he is always ready to go with his durable, yet attractive tie-dye headband.

Lightning Ramone This cool paint job is inspired by Ramone's famous friend Lightning McQueen. Ramone can show support for his friend and look pretty sweet doing it!
Green Ramone Ramone is green with envy today - he's envious of all the other cars who get to see his brand new sweet green paint job. But be careful, you can look but don't touch. This paint job is that fresh.
Yellow Ramone Ramone calls this look "Mellow Sunset." This morning he was feeling particularly relaxed about the day's schedule. Starting off with breakfast at Flo's, then back to his studio for a few hours of painting, only to quit early for the day and then pick up Flo for a nice drive up to the Wheel Well to enjoy a mellow sunset.
Old School Ramone When the town was bustling and business was good, Ramone didn't have the time to paint himself each day. He barely had the time to paint himself each year, so he had to really make it count! Like this classic look from the 1960's.
Red Ramone This paint job came out particularly nice. Ramone liked it so much he thought he'd keep it a little longer than a day, but then he came to his senses.
