Cars Toons, also known as Mater's Tall Tales, is an animated short series by Pixar based on the animated film Cars featuring the characters Mater (voiced by Larry the Cable Guy) and Lightning McQueen (voiced by Keith Ferguson). The show airs on Disney Channel, Toon Disney, and ABC Family. Its first broadcast was on October 27, 2008.
The series premiered with four shorts.
