Cars 2 will be Pixar Animation Studios' 12th animated feature film and is a sequel to Cars. It will also be Pixar Animation Studios' 2nd sequel to one of their films after Toy Story 2 (Note: Toy Story 3 will be released before Cars 2, making Cars 2 the third Pixar theatrical sequel). The film will be directed by Brad Lewis. The film will be released in the summer of 2011. It was originally going to be released in 2012 but was moved forward a year and will release in the same year as The Bear and the Bow, marking the first time Pixar will release two new films in the same year. Doc Hudson's voice actor, Paul Newman died of lung cancer in 2008 and it is unknown if Doc Hudson will return in Cars 2. It has been suggested that the actor Corey Burton will play Doc because he played him in Cars Mater-National video game. George Carlin, who played Fillmore, also passed away in 2008.
