—Buzz and Woody accepting the fact that Andy will grow up

Andy Davis is the owner of many of the main toys in Toy Story and its sequel, Toy Story 2, such as Woody and Buzz Lightyear.

Toy Story

Woody: "Look, over in that house is a kid who thinks you are the greatest, and it's not because you're a Space Ranger, pal. It's because you're a toy. You are his toy!"
Buzz: "But why would Andy want me?"
Woody: "Why would Andy want you? Look at you! You're a Buzz Lightyear! Any other toy would give up his moving parts just to be you. You've got wings! You glow in the dark! You talk! Your helmet does that...that...that "whoosh" thing. You are a cool toy!
—Woody declaring how Andy loves having Buzz Lightyear

"Come on, Sheriff. There's a kid over in that house who needs us. Now let's get you out of this thing."
—Buzz Lightyear, explaining the real reason why he is helping Woody out

In his early childhood, Woody was Andy's favorite toy until he received Buzz for his birthday, and quickly became fascinated with him. However, after nearly losing both toys before moving to a new house, both of the toys have become his favorites to play with.

Toy Story 2

"How long will it last, Woody? Do you think Andy's taking you to college, or on his honeymoon? Andy's growing up, and there's nothing you can do about it."
Stinky Pete, describing what might happen if Woody goes back home
"You're right, Prospector. I can't stop Andy from growing up - but I wouldn't miss it for the world."
Woody, later on.

In the sequel, he is shown to have grown up slightly. He only appears for a short time at the beginning and at the ending. However, during his short appearance, it is easy to tell that he still loves his toys. Accidentally causing a rip in Woody's arm, Andy makes him realize that toys don't last forever, a sentiment fueled by Stinky Pete once Woody is taken who wants Woody to go on display and Jessie who tells Woody of her past owner who grew up and abandoned her. At the end of Toy Story 2, Andy becomes the new owner of Jessie and Bullseye.

Andy lives with his sister Molly and his mother.

Toy Story 3

Andy's Mom: "Andy's going to college. Can you believe it?"
Andy: "Mom, I'm not leaving till Friday."
—Quote from the new Toy Story 3 trailer
Andy is now grown up and going to college.

In the upcoming Toy Story 3, set several years after Toy Story 2, Andy has grown up and is now a college student as he leaves his toys at a daycare center.
